Consumer psychology says that how a consumer chooses a product to purchase is more than just about what the consumer needs but more of the relationship that the consumer has with the product. Especially for the loyal ones, and for any business, product loyalty is the best indicator of success, that despite having other similar products in the market, your consumers would still choose to buy your product. Moreover, that relationship is fueled by that attachment or bond to the product, from how it was manufactured, where it was produced and the packaging that comes with it, as well as the social impact or contribution of the product. For example, we buy from the local butcher every week since we trust that the meat products he sells are of the best quality, and over the years we have built a relationship with the butcher, and if a new meat shop opens in the next stall, we would not just leave and buy from the new shop, for some, that would even feel like a betrayal. The experiences we have had with the product, the personal interactions we have with the butcher and even the little favors like slicing the meat to your liking or giving you the freshest poultry all contribute to that relationship. At the same time, the fear that we might not have the same relationship with a new butcher in town is what keeps us from trying out the new store. It would mean that you have to establish and build a new relationship with the new store and for some this is too much work, unless of course if the old one gives the loyal customer a reason to move to the new shop, like having poorer quality products, or increasing prices or not being able to keep up with the demand.

Loyal customers rarely jump ship and forget the trust and confidence they have with their favorite brands, they may even experiment or try out the new products, but it is always to see if the new products can offer more than their favorites, and will still continue patronizing their favorites because it is what they are used to. This is why it is so difficult to penetrate into a market that has an established brand, for example it is so difficult for a new toothpaste brand to come into the market and beat Colgate, for most the goal is to come in second to the dominating brand rather than beat it. Start-up companies now target markets that are diversified and where they can find their own niche. For example, a new brand that produces customized planners made from waterlily fibers, even though the product in itself is simple, just a planner and there is not even a huge market for planners, but since it is an ecologically and environmentally relevant product, more people are buying it since it makes them think that they are helping the environment. It is highly probable that consumers also take into consideration the packaging of the product that they purchase, and at present there is a huge clamor for green or ecofriendly materials. No one would like to be seen as someone who contributes to the plastic problem in the world, more so that there is so much negativity assigned to it.

Admittedly, there are products that has to be packaged in such a way that it will not spill or be opened accidentally as it will destroy the product such as in powdered milk or sauces, there are also those that needs to be packed in a more hardy packaging because it could be hazardous if it seeps out of the packaging such as corrosive substances or poisonous chemicals. In products like these, the best solution would be to use custom stand up pouches. Stand up pouches are made from different types of plastics and are then laminated over each other to create a receptacle for your products that will not only keep it fresh longer, but also safe from punctures, spillage and contamination. You might have even noticed that more stores have stand-up pouches on display rather than in cans or thick and hard plastics, as it is cheaper and more fun to use as it is open for customization and a bit friendly to the environment. If you decide that stand up pouches are good for your business, you have to make sure that it is certified and the materials used are FDA and USDA approved, as you can be sure that it will really be able to protect and market your product at the same time. Since custom stand up pouches are easier to work with, and can be made with any color combination, configuration, size, kind of seals and dimensions that it can easily be designed with the branding that would perfectly suit the product. The possibilities are endless and some companies can even work with the product’s designers and artists to make sure that expectations are met and that the resulting stand-up pouch is reflective of the thrust of the product.

Custom stand up pouches is the next big thing when it comes to packaging of products that include food, pharmaceuticals, industrial substances and even small electronic parts or mechanical parts. It is made of durable and light weight material which can even come in biodegradable materials if the product needs it, and it can provide the protective barrier that tin cans and hard plastics do at a fraction of the cost. Moreover, it can come in different colors and dimensions and even locks and ways to open it and will be easier to use by the consumer which is always a prime consideration for most buyers.  Also, it can come in clear plastic, opaque, misted or dark colors to either showcase what is inside it, or to tease the curiosity of the consumer. Lastly, it is reusable by the consumer, in that they could use the pouch to hold other materials after using what was inside it originally. For that, custom stand up pouches is the best packaging for your products.
