We’ve seen huge leaps forward in our modern tech over the past two decades as our most used hardware has went through dramatic change – our mobile devices, our gaming consoles, and our other smart devices too. But where change had once been moving extremely quickly, certain spaces have become somewhat stale in recent years, and it leads to the question of whether or not big changes in tech are slowing down, or if they’re still proceeding at the expected pace.

Changes in mobile – Perhaps the most impactful over this period of time have been the changes seen in our mobile devices, at one point the goal had been to make them as small and form fitting as possible and have since changed to grow much bigger as a bigger focus on different media has become important. From music, to movies, through to the biggest games like a uk online bingo list here for example, our mobile devices are changed – but certain features have remained the same for a period of time now, things like batteries haven’t caught up to the bigger power draw, storage is falling behind, and other now are other features like networking starting to experience change. As perhaps one of the most impactful pieces of tech we own, changes do happen, but certainly not as quickly as they once did. Whilst there are upcoming changes particularly in the likes of folding displays, these are currently more of a gimmick and may not be extremely sought after on a permanent change.
Our dedicated systems – On the other hand, we have an area in tech that has been moving extremely quickly in some regards too. Whilst dedicated gaming consoles typically enjoy a lifespan of nearly a decade, they’re able to pack a lot into the devices to ensure they last for a longer period of time, similarly the PC gaming market sees big tech changes nearly every year although some may not be as impactful as others – it does lead to a rapidly changing tech space where things can fall out of favour very quickly as newer replacements become choice items and the older second-hand market grows. This is certainly the space seeing the most change, and many hope these big adjustments can be passed down to the smaller devices too.
It’s clear to see that changes have certainly slowed in recent years, whether this is because our current tech advances haven’t caught up or whether there are other challenges that are present is another question entirely, but the next few years could certainly be key in delivering newer options too as some experts have predicted the pace for new releases to quicken, although the area in change is unknown.
