Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a common written exam or CWE every year to recruit clerical cadre in multiple banks across the country. IBPS clerk prelims exam is conducted on: 8.12.18, 9.12.18, 15.12.18, 16.12.18

IBPS clerk main exam is conducted on: 20.01.19

Final result declaration: 1.4.19

IBPS Clerk 2018 Recruitment

IBPS Clerk 2018 recruitment process is done as

  • Preliminary examination
  • Main Examination

Students have to qualify both the levels to get selected in the IBPS clerk 2018. After clearing the main exam there is no need to attend a personal interview. 100% weightage is given to the main examination result.

The preliminary exam of IBPS Clerical cadre is an online exam to test the candidates on their aptitude, English and intellect. Totally three sections are there. So, students have to clear all the three cut off to proceed to the main exam. Candidates should solve 100 questions within 1 hour. Passing mark is decided by the IBPS every year and it depends on the difficulty of the exam.

Phase-2: IBPS Clerk Mains Examination

The total time duration and the number of questions have been revised from IBPS clerk 2017. In IBPS Clerk 2018 the main exam will contain 190 questions which have to be completed within 160 minutes.

In the year of 2017, Computer and Reasoning ability section were used to be conducted separately. But this year, both the sections are combined together and will contain 50 questions that have to be solved within 45 minutes. Both the exams will be conducted bilingually i.e. both in English and Hindi.

Penalty for Wrong Answers:

In both preliminary and main exams negative marking is applied as penalty marks. 1/4th of the mark is assigned as a negative marking. There is no penalty marking for the unanswered questions.

Final Score Calculation for IBPS Clerk Exam:

The final mark of IBPS clerk exam is calculated in the following array:

Marks acquired in the Preliminary exam will not be considered for the selection

Candidates should qualify in Phase 2 for final merit

The total score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each category.

Candidates have to prepare well, especially a full IBPS clerk mock test along with time duration to prepare for the original exam.

Resolving more IBPS clerk mock tests will give a confidence to the candidates about the pattern and time management.
