Going on this path, when he rapped about his desire to kill his mother Debbie Mathers in his songs, Debbie filed a lawsuit against him in Michigan court. He sued him for defamation filing $1 million lawsuits against him. However, the case was settled for $25000. Later on, Eminem apologized to Debbie in the song “Headlights” for criticizing her in his earlier songs.
