Learning about making bath bombs is very easy. Usually small bath bombs are simpler to make in comparison the big ones. They crumble while the small ones are more robust. However, you should have the right bath bomb molds for it.

Bath bomb recipes

Once you have the mold in your hand, you need some ingredients to make bath bombs. They are all available in the grocery store. The ingredients include

  • 1 cup citric acid
  • 2 baking soda
  • 25-30 drops of essential oil of the fragrance you prefer
  • 1 tsp. of olive oil, almond oil (optional)
  • Food coloring 15 drops
  • Water

The oil is optional to provide a moisturizing feel. When you are making bath bombs you can use any basic food colors such as yellow, green or red! You can choose any fragrance you like.

Method to make bath bombs

It is advisable to work in batches till you actually know the right process, content and idea of making bath bombs. Lower the recipe down to 1/3 and 2/3 of citric acid and baking soda in the beginning. It will still be sufficient to make small bath bombs.

So, get ready and put your gloves on:

  • Mix baking soda and citric acid in a utensil. Ensure they are mixed well. Sift them back and forth.
  • Put essential oils with extra oil as well as food coloring. Mix it quickly with your hand to avoid formation of any lump. Rub the mixture with hands to powderize the clumps.
  • Spray water little bit at a time and mix constantly. You need very less water for this. Aim for a good consistency and make it crumbly so that it just holds properly in the shape when you squeeze hard.
  • Pack it tightly in the mold you have got. If you use two-part mold like a decoration, then just overfill each part of the mold and press it tightly. Do not twist. Just tap the mold wisely
  • Allow the bomb to dry to a few hours in dry place. Keep it away from direct sunlight.
  • Make sure you use it within a few weeks. It smells very good in the starting weeks. It is important to know that with time it will lose its fizzing power. So, if you are sending it as a gift to someone, then make sure the recipient uses it sooner to get the relaxing fragrant fizzy bath.
